Escena Lanzarote: A unique performing arts festival
A new edition of the Lanzarote Performing Arts Festival: Escena, is here. The festival pays tribute to the performing arts in the unique natural spaces designed by César Manrique, the Centers for Art, Culture, and Tourism. This festival highlights the fusion of art and nature, presenting Lanzarote to the world as a unique example of the symbiosis between both.
The artistic proposals intertwine with the Manrique-designed venues, enriching the experience for both audiences and artists. The natural spaces amplify the impact of each performance, transforming every event into an unforgettable experience.
Patfield & Triguero: The connection driving a new creation
Chris Patfield, from England, and José Triguero, from Spain, met in London at the National Center for Circus Arts, a circus training and education center. Patfield stood out as a juggler and tightrope walker, participating in the 2009 World Circus Championships, while Triguero received various awards throughout his training. Both have collaborated with companies such as No Fit State and Stumble Dance Circus, but their main common ground has been Gandini, a prestigious juggling company with over 30 years of experience.
Gibbon: An innovative reinterpretation of dance
Gibbon redefines dance by integrating flying objects, exploring the tension between gravity and body movement. The piece blends confusion, unsettling humor, and a constant interruption of the creative process. Patfield & Triguero were nominated for the Total Theatre Award at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, with the support of several cultural institutions in the United Kingdom.
