Timanfaya
Craters, lava flows and lunar-like landscapes reflect the heat of the earth that shaped Montañas del Fuego.
On the Islote de Hilario, geothermal activity shows that the subsoil still holds part of that heat.
Jameos del Agua
A section of the La Corona volcanic tube where rock, water and light shape the route through the first Centre created by César Manrique.
The interior lake is home to the blind crab, an endemic species adapted to darkness.
Cueva de los Verdes
A section of the La Corona volcanic tube open to visitors, where galleries, folds and mineral deposits preserve traces of the lava’s passage.
Jesús Soto’s intervention uses light to reveal the shapes and depths of the rock.
Jardín de Cactus
A former rofera—a quarry for volcanic material—transformed into a garden where cacti from five continents occupy terraces that preserve the shape of the excavation.
Prickly pear cacti and cochineal production link the Centre to the area’s agricultural history.
Mirador del Río
Excavated into the terrain and covered with volcanic stone, the building conceived by César Manrique is barely visible from the outside.
Inside, two arched windows frame El Río and the Chinijo Archipelago, with La Graciosa facing the cliff.
Castillo de San José, an 18th-century fortress in the bay of Arrecife, is home to the MIAC and the Castillo de San José Restaurant, a unique space where art, culture, and gastronomy come together by
