International 6 Cuerdas Festival
The International 6 Cuerdas Festival, organized by Tenmusic, is celebrating its 16th edition and has featured prominent local, national, and international guitarists such as Vicente Amigo, Niño Josele, and Stanley Jordan. Since its inception, the festival has promoted the development of Canary Island artists, providing a platform for both established musicians and emerging talents like Javier Infante and Yul Ballesteros. In addition to concerts, workshops and masterclasses have taken place, fostering direct contact between artists and attendees, which has enriched the audience’s experience. Originally called the La Guitarra de La Laguna Festival, the event has expanded to various islands, including Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, due to the growing demand for guitar music.
This year, the 6 Cuerdas Festival is proud to present brothers David and Carlos de Jacoba, two iconic figures in contemporary flamenco, in an exclusive concert at the magical Cueva de los Verdes. They will share their passion and talent in a performance that promises to be one of the festival’s highlights.
David and Carlos De Jacoba
David De Jacoba
Born in Motril, Granada, David de Jacoba released his debut album, Jubileo, in 2014, produced by his brother Carlos. Featuring collaborations with Vicente Amigo and Raimundo Amador, it won the award for Best Revelation Flamenco Album from “Flamenco Hoy” in 2014. He has worked with renowned figures such as Paco de Lucía and Tomatito, and is currently working on his second album.
Carlos de Jacoba
Carlos de Jacoba, a flamenco guitarist born in 1983 in Motril, trained with Eugenio Bermúdez. At the age of 16, he embarked on his first tour in the Netherlands and later accompanied artists such as Diego el Cigala. In 2014, he produced his brother David’s album, Jubileo. Carlos explores various genres and is currently working on his sextet and an album dedicated to the legendary flamenco singer, “La Niña de los Peines.”
