Subrata De, the most important string instrument in Indian classical music. Born in Calcutta, India, in 1966, Subrata grew up in a family of musicians where he discovered his love for music at an early age. He initially learned to play the violin and flute, but later, at the age of 12, he was drawn to the Sitar, an instrument that would ultimately define his career.
Since then, he has spent much of his life learning, performing, and teaching Hindustani classical music. With a solid education and innate talent, Subrata has become one of the foremost exponents of Hindustani classical music worldwide, and is recognized for his ability to propagate Indian culture in its purest form.

He has performed at various national and international festivals, in more than 35 countries around the world, bringing his music to every corner of the planet.
