Festival of Visual Music of Lanzarote: A unique fusion of music and art
Origins and concept
Created in 1989 by the artist Ildefonso Aguilar and organized by the Cabildo of Lanzarote, the Festival of Visual Music combines avant-garde music with various artistic expressions in natural venues such as the Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes auditoriums.
An International gathering
This festival has attracted renowned contemporary musicians, becoming one of the most prominent gatherings of avant-garde music worldwide during its thirteen editions from 1989 to 2002.
Renaissance and objectives
In 2017, after a fifteen-year hiatus, the Cabildo of Lanzarote relaunched this festival with the aim of regaining its prestige and establishing Lanzarote as a cultural destination, offering a unique musical experience in an exceptional natural setting.
